Consistent grading, transparent pricing, full compliance
Same device, same grade, every time. Simple billing anyone can understand. Compliance documentation generated automatically from your normal work.
Standardized Grading -- No More "Your Grade vs My Grade"
Cosmetic grading in ITAD is subjective. One person calls a device Grade B, another calls the same device Grade C. This causes disputes with buyers, returns, and lost revenue. When you hire new technicians, everyone grades differently.
reCore uses a defect-based grading system with a predefined catalog. The grade is determined by what defects you select -- not by personal opinion. Two different people grading the same device will get the same result.
- 7 physical components are graded: Screen, Keyboard, Trackpad, Top/Lid, Bottom, Sides/Ports, Hinges
- Each component has a catalog of possible defects to choose from (44 total)
- Each defect is tagged as Minor, Major, or Critical
- The system calculates the grade automatically based on the defects selected
- The final device grade is determined by the weakest component
- If someone overrides the suggested grade, the reason is recorded in the audit trail
| Defect Level | Result |
|---|---|
| No defects | Grade A (Excellent) |
| Minor defects only | Grade B (Good) |
| 1 major defect | Grade C (Fair) |
| 2+ major defects | Grade D (Poor) |
| Any critical defect | For-Parts |
Every technician follows the same catalog -- no interpretation, no guessing. Buyers know exactly what each grade means. New hires produce consistent grades from day one. Grade disputes disappear because the system, not the individual, determines the result.
Transparent, Simple Billing
Most ITAD software has complicated pricing with hidden costs, per-seat licenses, per-feature upsells, and confusing overage charges. You never know exactly what you will pay.
reCore has straightforward pricing that anyone can understand. You pay once per device and once per drive. That is it. Re-processing remains free within your current monthly billing window.
One charge per device
The first time a device connects, it costs one credit. After that, run diagnostics on that same device as many times as you want during the current monthly billing window. Reconnecting, re-testing, re-grading -- all included.
One charge per drive
The first time a drive is wiped, it costs one credit. After that, wipe that same drive 100 times if you need to during the current monthly billing window. Re-wiping in-window is included.
No hidden fees
No per-user fees. No per-feature fees. Add as many technicians and admins as you need. Every feature included in every plan, with fair-use and policy updates communicated in advance.
Example:
A laptop comes in with 2 NVMe drives. Full diagnostic session + wipe both drives = 1 device credit + 2 drive credits = 3 credits total. If you need to re-run diagnostics later in the same monthly billing window and re-wipe the same drives, that costs 0 additional credits.
| Plan | Monthly | Included Credits | Per Credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $99 | 100 | $0.99 |
| Growth | $249 | 500 | $0.50 |
| Scale | $499 | 1,500 | $0.33 |
| Pro ITAD | $999 | 5,000 | $0.20 |
| Enterprise | Custom | 20,000+ | From $0.05 |
- 30-day free trial with 100 credits, full feature access, no credit card required
- Cancel anytime
- Founders pricing available: 50% lifetime discount, limited slots
- The more you process, the cheaper each device gets
Built for Everyone -- Not Just Enterprises
ITAD compliance tools are designed for large companies with big budgets. Small and mid-sized recyclers end up using spreadsheets, generic wipe tools, and manual processes because proper ITAD software is too expensive and too complex.
The same platform that handles enterprise-scale operations starts at $99/month and takes minutes to set up. No technical expertise required.
- First device processed in under 10 minutes: sign up, download, boot from USB, start testing
- Starts at $99/month -- not $10,000+ per year enterprise contracts
- No IT department needed. If you can plug in a USB drive, you can use reCore
- A 5-device-per-week recycler uses the exact same software as a 5,000-device-per-week enterprise
- 30-day free trial: try everything before you pay anything
ITAD compliance should not be a privilege reserved for large operations. Proper data destruction, certified wiping, and documented audit trails should be available to every recycler, refurbisher, and ITAM team -- regardless of size or budget. When smaller operations can properly certify their work, more devices get responsibly recycled and fewer end up in landfill.
AI-Ready -- The Platform Learns Over Time
ITAD operations process thousands of devices and generate enormous amounts of data -- test results, timing, battery health, failure rates, grading patterns -- but that data typically sits in spreadsheets with no way to turn it into actionable insights.
Every operation in reCore generates structured, organized data. Over time, the platform will use this data to set standards, detect anomalies, and help you make better decisions.
- Battery health benchmarks: know what is normal for a specific model and flag anything abnormally low
- Grading benchmarks: If 95% of a model grades B or higher, a batch grading lower is worth investigating
- Testing time estimates: know average times and flag consistently slow technicians for coaching
- Failure rate predictions: identify which devices or components are more likely to fail
- Anomaly detection: automatically flag results that deviate from established patterns
- Model-specific standards: auto-generate expected specs and benchmarks per manufacturer and model
The system gets smarter with every device it processes. Over time, it builds a picture of what "normal" looks like -- and helps you spot anything that deviates. This turns subjective decisions into data-driven, defensible standards.
Compliance Coverage
Different buyers, markets, and certifications require different documentation. Manually creating compliance records for each standard is impractical and error-prone.
reCore automatically generates the documentation that satisfies all major compliance standards, simply by doing your normal work. You do not need to do anything extra.
| Standard | What It Requires | How reCore Handles It |
|---|---|---|
| NIST SP 800-88 Rev 2 | Documented wipe methods, verification, chain of custody | Built into every wipe operation |
| R2 | Complete tracking from intake to disposition | Automatic from device connection to completion |
| e-Stewards | Audit trail, certified data destruction | Every action tracked with timestamps and identity |
| ISO 27001 | Data security controls, access control | Role-based access, tenant isolation |
| GDPR / CCPA | Provable data destruction | Certificates with verification proof |
| HIPAA | Documented data destruction with verification | Triple verification workflow |
| SOC 2 | Access controls, audit trails, data integrity | Role-based access, timestamped records |
reCore uses NIST SP 800-88 Revision 2 as its foundation because it is the latest and most comprehensive industry standard. Meeting NIST automatically aligns you with R2, e-Stewards, and other certification requirements.
